VAT Return Filing UAE: VAT 201 Guide
VAT return filing in the UAE is required for every VAT-registered business for each Tax Period assigned by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). The VAT 201 return reports output VAT, recoverable input VAT and the resulting amount payable to or recoverable from the FTA.
What is VAT 201?
VAT 201 is the UAE VAT return form used to report taxable sales, output VAT, eligible input VAT and the net VAT payable to or recoverable from the FTA for a Tax Period.

VAT return filing deadline in the UAE
A VAT-registered business must generally file its VAT return and make any related payment within 28 days from the end of its Tax Period, unless the FTA assigns another deadline. Always check the due date shown in your EmaraTax dashboard and plan to submit and pay before it.
Confirm your VAT Tax Period before filing
The standard VAT Tax Period is generally three calendar months, although the FTA can assign a different period, including a monthly period, to some businesses. Your VAT 201 return must cover exactly the dates allocated to your business.
